Viera, Javier '00 S.T.M.
Javier Viera is the Senior Pastor of Mamaroneck United Methodist Church. Prior to this he served for six years as Associate Minister at Christ Church, New York City. A native of San Juan, Puerto Rico, where he spent his formative years, Javier later moved to Florida. A 1998 graduate of YDS, Javier earned his B.A. at Florida Southern College and a M.Div. from Duke University. He is currently as doctoral student at Columbia University. His work experience has taken him to Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. and later to a large urban church where he served as director of youth programs. He is a frequent leader of volunteer work teams in Latin America, Africa, and the Middle East, as well as throughout the United States. Javier serves on the board of directors of several organizations, including the New York City Mission Society, the Washingtonville Housing Alliance, and the Hispanic Resource Center of Larchmont/Mamaroneck. He is married to Marianne Wilson, and they are the proud parents of two daughters, Anabel and Juliet.
