Klein, Susan '77 M.Div.
The Reverend Susan Klein earned her M.Div. degree from Yale Divinity School after earning her B.A. at Wheaton College in Massachusetts. Upon her graduation from YDS, she became Canon for Program at Christ Church Cathedral in St. Louis, Missouri, where she served from 1977 to 1984. From 1984, to 1989, she was Associate Pastor of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Irvine, California, and Chaplain at the University of California at Irvine. During this time, she was also appointed Visiting Lecturer in the Comparative Literature department at UCI.
From 1990 to 2004, Reverend Klein has served as Rector of St. Aidan's Episcopal Church in Malibu, California. She is now the Rector of St. Alban's Episcopal Church in Westwood, California. She has contributed sermons to Sermon Writer and Sermons that Work (1999-2001, Morehouse Publishing). She served on the Anglican Consultative Council Visitation Team for the Province of West Africa in 1998, and she has also served on the world Mission Committee and bishop Search Committee for the Diocese of Los Angels, and as Mentor for the Diocese of L.A.'s vicar's Program and Post-Ordination Training Program.
Reverend Klein is married to John Spano, Jr., who serves as an editor with the Los Angeles Times. They have one child, named Sarah.
