Mark Granquist ’84 M.Div. was recently appointed Associate Professor of Church History at Luther Seminary, St. Paul MN. Granquist had previously taught for 15 years in the Religion departments of St. Olaf and Gustavus Adolphus Colleges.

Jeffrey Montague ’84 M.Div. lives in Connecticut with his wife of 25 years and 3 stupendous kids, each of whom is working and finishing college. He is working for the Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services, in Norwich. Jeff’s ministry includes: Coordinator of the clinical Faith Initiative in treatment and recovery programs, Coordinator of the Employee Assistance Program, and Leader of the Connecticut Disaster Behavioral Health Response Network for Eastern Connecicut.

Robert Nugent '84 S.T.M., a Catholic priest of the Society of the Divine Savior (SDS) has published articles on religious topics in America, Commonweal, Church, The Tablet and other Catholic journals. Paulist Press will publish his new book, Silence Speaks, in the coming year. He is also leading a pilgrimage to Germany and the Passion Play at Oberammergau in 2010. Recently he has served in parishes in England and Ireland and participated in the Tantur Ecumenical Center's program in Jerusalem.

Ingrid Pope ’84 M.A.R. has joined the Lakeway Church in Texas. It’s a Community Church and her daughter and family are members. Pope left Greenwich, CT where she had lived for many years and no longer had family there. Her house is on Lake Travis and the view is beautiful. However, they need rain badly. Ingrid would love some visitors.

Randolph Purinton ’84 M.Div. lives in Amherst, MA with his wife Anita. He is the Christian Education Director of The South Amherst congregational Church.

Whit Stodghill M.Div '84 now Marion Soards writes, “The year of the victory lap: 25th reunion at Yale Divinity School, 50th birthday and 25th anniversary of my ordination to the priesthood. At graduation I was, as Letty Russell put it, a “double dipper”. I was ordained in the Episcopal Church in Kentucky where I began my ministry in a local parish and then moved to Kansas City as a new priest. I stayed involved in parish work, full or part time for the next 17 years, with time off for a cross- country bicycle ride, and also a brief detour in radio broadcasting. I married at 41, had my son Lloyd, and decided a vocational change was in order. I was hired as a staff chaplain at an urban hospital and have been there ever since, discovering and enjoying a pastoral vocation that I never knew I had. I am now engaged in further training to be certified as a CPE supervisor. To fortify myself for that work, my son and I practice Tae Kwon Do, and we will test for our black belts this fall. I also continue a twice-weekly yoga practice. I’m now divorced and live with Lloyd in same neighborhood I grew up in. Lloyd attends the same grade school I went to. I love living in my old hometown of Louisville and find myself at 50 enjoying myself, still growing (sometimes painfully), and constantly surprised by life.”

Sharon Watkins ’84 M.Div., nominated by President Barack Obama, delivered the sermon at the national prayer service held on the day after the inauguration.

Enid Wood ’84 M.A.R. lived in Hertfordshire for 16 years after graduating from YDS. Now they’re in Texas, which has been quite the adjustment, but lots of fun. They get to visit England next month, fortunately. While there Enid was a member of St. Anne Lutheran in the City of London.
