William F. Quillian ’38 B.D. and his wife, Margaret, enjoy life in a delightful retirement community in Lynchburg, VA. Retiring in 1978 as President of Randolph-Macon Woman’s College, Bill was asked to join what is now Wachovia Bank as Senior VP. In 1988 He was asked to become Executive Director of the just being formed Greater Lynchburg community Trust. He retired form that position in 1998. Bill keeps active with several Non-profits and is still playing golf. In November 2007 a “Critique of Biblical Literalism” appeared in the Religion Section of his local newspaper. It drew such a stream of opposing letters to the editor (“to be expected in the home town of the late Jerry Fall well and his fundamentalist Liberty University”) that the paper cut off publishing them, though giving Bill the privilege of a follow-up. |
