Commencement 2009: Amid gloomy economy, reasons for hope
Despite the gloomy economy and periods of inclement weather, there was more than enough inspirational talk at commencement 2009 to send 133 newly minted graduates out into the world with a measure of confidence and optimism. While a number of graduates were still uncertain of immediate plans at graduation time, most had plans in place, despite the worldwide economic downturn. Many were headed for advanced degrees, while others had positions lined up in pulpit ministries or with para-church agencies. The Class of 2009 donated over $20,000 to the YDS Annual Fund.
