Once Yale's only dining room, Commons since the 1930s has had the principle mission of supporting the residential colleges. That tradition has been extended to include providing food service for students residing in the New Residence Hall (Swing Dorm).

Customers are able to watch their breakfast being cooked; burgers or chicken breasts being flame-broiled; stir-frys sizzling; and french fries turning golden brown. Self-service steamtables will allow you to take a little or a lot, or mix and match to suit your mood.

Holders of the Anytime Meal Plan, the Full Meal Plan, the Any 14 Meal Plan, the Any 10 Meal Plan, and the Any 5 Meal Plan may transfer board plan meals to Commons.

Commons is opened Monday breakfast through Friday lunch.
