Current Team News

November 20, 2001 - Thanksgiving time! Or at least most Yalies are off finding turkey and hopefully training too. Check out the new website, look for missing links, and do inform the webmeister.

People have now been fitted for jerseys, and it looks like our new jersey design has also been set (see this link). Talk to Cam if you are racing next season, checkbooks ready to make a deposit. On another note, the 2001 ECCC meeting went smoothly, and the 2002 racing season schedule is set… look in the 2002 Season section for specific info.

Get psyched and start marking up that spring calendar. Got a big wedding to go to on a spring weekend? A paper worth 90% of your final grade due on Monday? Some random doctoral thesis defense? Heck, a graduation to attend on Saturday? Sure, go. But you'll feel guilty. You'll miss the saddle. You'll miss the speed. You'll miss the fig newtons. You'll go. Oh yeah.

November 16, 2001 - So people have now been fitted for jerseys, and it looks like our new jersey design has also been set (see the link). November 2, 2001 - Alrighty, the new design for our 2002 racing uniforms are up. Check out the link (for on-campus Yalies only). Also, we will be hosting the 2001 ECCC meeting at the Yale Medical School on Saturday, November 10th at 11am. If you can host fellow riders overnite, please contact Reilly or Cam. For those interested in learning how to rack yourself the flying superman, members of the team are cyclo-crossing around New England (contact Ed or Chris Oishi). The weather's been kinda funky these days (ie, warm), so do ride.

October 5, 2001 - Check out the link to "Team Rides" for updates on the current 2001 fall ride schedule. New Cannondale owners: Chris McPhee is putting 'em together, so contact him for appointments. It also looks like we're gonna get new jerseys and associated goodies this racing year. Get excited.

All other riders, get out on the road and start putting those miles into a new season while the weather holds. We've got a big team this year with many returning riders and talented newbies. So gear up, represent, and show New England what we do with two-wheels and a road. We're gonna be one mad dog cycling posse.

Here's a notice for a Century ride sponsored by Yalies. Come one, come all:

Special Event!!  -- Fall Century

When: October 14th, Sunday

Where:  The women's water table in front of SML on cross campus

Leave 8:30 am sharp! (will probably get back around 3:30 or so - sooner if you want to go faster).

The ride is 100 miles long and contains about 4,500 feet of climbing.  I

will do it at an average of about 17 mph.  If you are in good shape, it

will be moderate to easy.  If you have not done this kind of thing before,

it will be moderate to hard.  At any rate, everyone that did it over the

last 4 years had a good time.

We will have the opportunity to stop for food, water, and other bodily

functions at 25, 50, and 75 mile marks (corresponding to Lyman's Orchard,

Chester on the Connecticut River, and  finally the Guilford Green).  So,

bring some money for food and water.

Archive News:

May 19-20, 2001 - Marissa and Amanda riding hard at Nationals... go to www.veloresults.com to see how great they did. Updates to the cycling webpage will occur throughout the summer (as fast as this webperson figures out the HTML thing). So keep posted, and happy riding.

September 1, 1999

The interest from freshman and new grad students has been tremendous.
While the team lost many fast members to graduation this year, My hunch is
that we'll be fielding a full, fast, and young team this spring!

Come to the meeting on Thursday (9/2, 7:30pm at WHL 011) to meet some new
recruits and help set up rides for the fall.

Meet at cross campus at 4:30pm for an easy ride this Friday.

I look forward to seeing everyone soon-
