illhouse Avenue, proclaimed "the most beautiful street in America" by Charles Dickens, was formerly an upscale residential neighborhood. Today, many of the stately mansions serve as homes for various departments in the arts and social sciences. Most of Yale's science laboratories are situated in the appropriately named Science Hill, whose most prominent architectural feature is the Kline Biology Tower designed by renowned architect Philip Johnson. A cafeteria near the top of the building offers magnificent views of the campus and the city.
