The student-run Cap and Gown Agency provides black rental gowns to faculty and sells black keepsake gowns to students. Custom regalia is also available by special order.

The Cap and Gown Agency is located in the office of Associated Student Agenices, 246 Church Street, Room B05. Inquiries may be directed to Cap and Gown Agency manager Tyler Scheid or Craig Steen.

Ordering
Prices, distribution dates, and order forms are contained in pdf format below and may be printed out by clicking on the appropriate category (free Adobe Acrobat Reader is required to view forms).

Orders may also be filled online at website www.yale.edu/sis using a credit card or student account. To avoid late fees, orders must be received by March 30.

Purchase of Yale Custom Regalia
The Cap and Gown Agency provides black rental gowns to faculty and black keepsake gowns to students. Faculty and degree candidates who wish to purchase Yale custom regalia (i.e., a Yale blue doctoral or master's gown, faille hood, doctoral tam or cap) may contact the Custom Department of Oak Hall Industries, 800 223-0429. Completed Order Forms
Faculty should return completed forms to the contact person listed for the school or college with which they will process (see pdf for faculty above).

Students who do not order online may drop off forms with payment between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm at the office of Associated Student Agencies, 246 Church Street, lower level. Completed forms may also be mailed to the Cap and Gown Agency, P.O. Box 202135, New Haven, CT 06520-2135.

Form of Payment
Cash, money orders, and personal checks will be accepted at 246 Church Street, as well as MasterCard, Visa, and charges to Yale student accounts. Please do not send cash with mailed orders.

Deadlines
To avoid late fees, orders must be received or postmarked by Monday, March 30. Orders received from March 31 through Thursday, April 9 will be subject to a late fee of $10.00. No orders, including those placed online, will be processed after April 9; and no refunds on cancellations will be issued after that date. (Note: the deadline for billing to student accounts, which is available to students who currently have charging privileges, is March 30.)

Missed Deadline
A limited number of black gowns and Yale hoods will be available during distribution hours at Payne Whitney Gymnasium on a first-come basis. A $5.00 shipping charge, in addition to the $10.00 late fee, will be added to the cost of regalia, and only cash will be accepted. Degree-specific hoods and gowns, however, can be guaranteed only with orders received by April 9.

Distribution Dates
Attire may be picked up at Payne Whitney Gymnasium pool amphitheater, located to the left of the main entrance, at the hours listed below. Please bring current Yale I.D. If you are unable to pick up your attire at the times below, please make arrangements for someone else to pick it up for you. The person picking up your attire must present a Yale I.D., or other valid identification, as well as a note from you authorizing pick-up of your order.

Wednesday's distribution is intended for seniors only.
Graduate and professional school distribution begins Thursday,
May 21.

Saturday, May 23*   12 pm to 4 pm
Sunday, May 24*   8 am to 11am

*Seniors wear academic attire to Baccalaureate services, which take place Saturday and Sunday, as well as Class Day exercises on Sunday, and Commencement.

Return
Faculty should return rental regalia to the point person at his or her residential college or school. All student regalia is purchased and need not be returned.
