Jennifer Weintritt

Jennifer Weintritt is a first year graduate student in the Department of Classics. She graduated summa cum laude in Classics from New York University in 2012, where she wrote her undergraduate thesis on classical representations of Eros in Augustine’s Confessions.

Jennifer has participated in excavations of the House of Orpheus in Paphos, Cyprus and the Roman colony of Ratiaria in Bulgaria. Her interests include the depiction of religious cults and practices in literature, the evolution of authorial presence and subjectivity, and the development of popular values in the ancient world.
