1. The American industrial revolution got a start with the 1st use of interchangeable parts in manufacturing and the info tech revolution got an early start here with the 1st telephone company, switchboard & directory.

2. New Haven is now a leading center for bioscience and high technology. Over 30 biotech companies have been spun out of Yale research. These companies have raised more than $2 billion dollars in investments and employ over 1,300 people.
