Seminar in Applications of Remote Sensing

About the class:

This is an advanced seminar in the field of remote sensing. This seminar will consist of:

lectures on advanced subjects
a limited number of lab exercises on advanced topics
student projects and student-led discussion sessions.

A major goal of this seminar will be to assist students to advance their current research project(s).

Each student in the Seminar will be expected to carry out a substantial research project. Students will meet regularly to discuss and review progress and problems in their own research projects.

Prerequisites:

Students taking this course must already have a working knowledge of the physics of remote sensing and practical experience using remote sensing software.

Schedule:

Students will meet for two hours each week for lecture, discussions and lab. Dates and times will be determined at the first organizational meeting. Please see the course syllabus for a detailed schedule.

Textbooks:

There will be no textbooks required for this course. Students will be assigned readings from various peer reviewed journals and supplied handouts.

Instructors:

Ronald Smith is the lead instructor for this course. Several guests will provide lectures on various advanced topics during the semester.
