From time to time faculty or staff members will approach the YCEO for help with a project that has a remote sensing component. In most cases, the crucial ingredient missing to successfully completing the project is an experienced analyst to perform the image processing / GIS work. The pool of people qualified to perform this work is formed by graduates and current members of the class Observing the Earth from Space.

The role of student consultant varies widely in scope and responsibilities. In some cases this will be literally a student job where a student is paid for each hour worked. In other cases, generally projects requiring more full time commitment, the project leaders are seeking students who would like to join the project as part of their class, degree, or thesis work. Some projects will fall in between, and the exact situation will be different for each one. If you are interested, contact Larry Bonneau for more information.
