This report describes the biological diversity of several sites in the Quinnipiac River watershed. Information on vegetation, birds, amphibians, and reptiles are included for Deadwood Swamp (Farmington), the Wu Property (Chesire), the Moss Farms Lowlands (Cheshire), Community Lake (Wallingford), and Quinnipiac River State Park (North Haven). Aquatic macroinvertebrate lists are provided for sites in the Ten Mile and Eight Mile River sub-basins, in the Quinnipiac main stem above Hanover Pond (Mariden), and in an un-named tirbutary upstream of Hanover Pond (Meriden-Cheshire border). Appendix H contains maps and major survey sites. For many of the macroinvertebrate sampling stations, I have included detailed location descriptions, and if desired, these should be sufficient to locate the stations in the future. Most of the information in this report is organized into tables and appendices. Despite the somewhat dry appearance, this format is far more organized and accessible than a narrative presentation. Note that there is little analysis of this information. The sole purpose of this project was to catalogue certatin sites in the Quinnipiac basin and to create the beginings of a "natural history database" of the watershed. This project was not an experiment but an exercise in natural history. This document is an important resource for scientists, planners, and others interested in the Quinnipiac, for it describes the flora and fauna of many areas that had not been previously charcterized.
