AGENDA

Water Law in Connecticut: Balancing Needs for Fish and Faucet

Conference on December 2, 2005

8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Northeast Utilities Auditorium
Berlin, Connecticut

This event will be a gathering of water law experts and practitioners in the field to address the state's law and policy regarding our most valuable natural resource.

Who owns the water in Connecticut?
Who's entitled to water? Who controls it?
Is water a property right? A commodity?
How does Connecticut allocate water? How should we?
Is the law the same for ground water as surface water?
Do fish have standing?
What should Connecticut do now to ensure healthy waters for the future? Who decides?

If you think you know the answers to these questions, come and learn what others think.
If you are not sure of the answers, come and hear what other people think.
If you think these questions aren't important to your life, think again.
