As your CASA secretary this year, I'm responsible for publishing the CASA Currents, a forum for members of CASA to publish pieces of text or art pertaining to Chinese-American issues. Anything from poetry, short stories, political pieces, to photography is accepted! I really hope to get CASA involved in more political and social issues pertaining to Chinese-Americans. Lastly, I am very proud of my fake British accent. You should ask me to do it for you :). I'm also from California!! |

Hi, I'm in charge of the financial side of CASA, including keeping track of our budget, costs and revenues, and of course, fundraising! This is an exciting year, as we're planning to finally start the CASA endowment, with the help of our generous alumni. Despite poor economic conditions, our targets are high, we're bullish, and there is much much much work to do. If you have any questions about what I do, about CASA, or are at all interested in fundraising, finance, or any money-related stuff, feel free to contact me!

My responsibilities on board include planning and holding small social events to create a more cohesive CASA family. As co-social chair, I want to strengthen CASA families and organize more casual social events for CASA members. Now for a little bit about myself, I like Harry Potter, pizza, Naked smoothies, sweat pants, mashed potatoes, Missouri, and Facebook. I am 19 years old. I am a 5’9 single male without a steady income looking for a casual or serious relationship. If you want to meet me, search me on eHarmony or visit me in Welch!!!

As community co-chair, I work with Amy to promote community service in CASA. Along with the Taiwanese American Society (TAS), I coordinate the once-a-semester Chinese Adopted
Siblings Program for Youth (CASPY). This year, we are working with China Care to start up a biweekly playgroup that fosters a better connection among big sibs and little sibs. In addition, a pen-pal system will be implemented after CASPY in order to improve the long-term relationship among big sibs and little sibs. If you would like to volunteer with

Publicist
Juliana Zhou

Email me
Hi, I'm Juliana Zhou, and I am the first ever board member specifically devoted to publicity! Yikes!
Publicity at CASA has always had many strong areas. We're a huge group on campus, which is an instant benefit, and we have always had talented board members create splashy, eye
-catching ads to advertise for our events. However, what is good can always still be improved upon! Aside from my basic jobs of creating fliers, table-tents and organizing
announcements and Facebook events, I also want to get as many CASA members helping with publicizing as possible. Things like postering and table-tenting, I can do by myself, or
with the help of a few board members. But what about more fun activities? For example, dyeing the snow on Old Campus to say "Come to CASA Cultural Show" might require some more
bodies. If anyone has other ridiculous, eye-catching ideas that do NOT involve destruction of public property, let me know, and I will try to find the appropriate event to use
it for. |
