Christina Meyer, a native of Silver Spring, MD, graduated from Yale University in 2006 with a degree in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry. When she arrived at Yale, she was fascinated by the carillon, and after nine weeks of carillon lessons from an older student and a competitive audition process, Christina became a member of the Yale University Guild of Carillonneurs in November 2002. In her time with the Guild, she has taken lessons with Ellen Dickinson of Stamford, CT, as well as lessons at carillon schools in Belgium and the Netherlands while on tour. She served as co-chair, treasurer, and historian of the Guild. Among other duties as co-chair, she led the Guild’s efforts in planning the annual Congress of the Guild of Carillonneurs in North America, held at Yale in June 2006. She became a carillonneur member of the Guild of Carillonneurs in North America in 2006. Prior to her carillon studies, she studied piano from the age of six with Rosemary Wasser of Silver Spring, MD and performed in benefit concerts and as an accompanist. She also enjoys singing, and has performed with the National Philharmonic Chorale and the University of Maryland Chorus. Next year will find her as a graduate student at Stanford University, beginning work on a Ph.D. in immunology and entering the carillon world in California.
