Justin Ryan lives in Denver, Colorado, where he plays the Williams Carillon at the University of Denver and studies with Todd Fair. Mr. Ryan is a recipient of a Fulbright Grant from the U.S. Department of State, with which he will begin study at the Netherlands Carillon School in Amersfoort, the Netherlands, in September. He performed as a guest recitalist at the annual congress of the Guild of Carillonneurs in North America in Culver, Indiana in June, as well as at more than a dozen carillons throughout the United States this summer. Justin is also a trombonist, guitarist, and conductor, and has taught music and photography at the elementary through university levels. Mr. Ryan began carillon study with teacher Jeff Davis and mentor John Agraz in Berkeley, CA in 2000. He holds a B.A. in Music from the University of California Berkeley and briefly studied orchestral conducting and music education at the University of Northern Colorado, where he taught classes in guitar and music appreciation. Justin was inducted as a carillonneur member of the Guild in 2003, and is originally from Sacramento, California. |
