Meet with a counselor
Map out a strategy for the year, reflect on your experiences during your first two years and get a jump-start on the internship search process. Update your resume and continue to develop your cover letter writing skills. Contact us to make an appointment.
Attend UCS career fairs
UCS events cover corporate and non-profit careers, studying and working abroad, law school, and health professions educational opportunities (including medical school). Continue to explore your career options. Check out the UCS calendar for details on our upcoming events.
Register for the On-Campus Interview Program
Many companies and organizations visit campus each year seeking juniors to fill summer internship positions. Learn more about how to participate in this program. Refer to the On-Campus Interview Program section for more information and registration requirements.
Secure a summer internship
Internships are an effective way to continue your career exploration, build personal networks, secure job leads and prepare for your potential upcoming job search. Your internship this summer may also lead to a full-time job offer before you return to campus for your senior year. This is a pivotal summer for you. See the Internship Search section for search strategies and additional resources.
Participate in a UCS Real World Tour
UCS coordinates visits to employers for groups of up to 50 students. The employers vary each year, depending on student interest, but past locations have included a publishing house, an advertising agency, and investment banks. Details of this year's tours will be sent to students who have signed up on UCS distribution lists.
Plan for medical school
If you wish to matriculate to medical school immediately following your graduation from Yale, you need to complete your applications in the summer following your junior year. We advise scheduling an appointment with a premedical advisor during your fall term to discuss this process.
Read through the "Applying to Medical School Guide" to learn what is expected of you.
Prepare for the LSAT
If you plan on attending law school immediately upon graduation from Yale, consider taking the LSAT in June of this year rather than in October or December of Senior Year. Schedule an appointment with one of UCS' Pre-Law Advisors early this year.
