Summer Programs

• Summer Medical Dental Education Program (SMDEP)
  Located at eleven medical schools across the country (including one at Yale), SMDEP is a fully-funded summer medical preparatory program for highly motivated premed students. The intensive six-week program exists to strengthen students' medical school applications and thereby contributes to increased admission of minority students in medicine.


• BIOSTEPS (Summer Research Program at Yale)
  Yale BioSTEP (Biomedical Science Training and Enrichment Program) provides intensive, short-term summer research training for undergraduates, especially students from groups underrepresented in biomedical sciences at research-intensive universities. The program, which is fully funded by the NIH-NHLBI, provides 24 students the unique opportunity to work in the laboratory of a Yale faculty member who serves as a mentor, and offers weekly seminars and workshops on topics relevant to biomedical science and their application to clinical medicine.

• AYA:Yale Career Network
  The Yale Career Network (YaleCN) is a database of alumni who are interested in networking with you. This network will allow you to connect with alumni to discuss career objectives and explore career interests. The database will help you contact Yale alumni in a particular geographic area and career field. Alumni are great sources of advice and guidance and may also help you locate an internship opportunity.


• Yale Intern Evaluation Database
  Read reports created by Yale students who have completed internships in the past. The information can provide a starting point for networking as you can contact the students themselves to learn more about their experience. You might also contact the student's previous supervisor to learn if the opportunity still exists. Employer contact data reflects information at time of submission and may have changed.   IEFP provides Yale College students with advising and information about many of the major (and not so major) fellowships, scholarships, and grants. You may also search for grants and fellowships by using the Yale Student Grants Database.


• International Summer Award Program
  The ISA began in the summer of 2005 in an effort to meet the recommendations of the Committee on Yale College Education to provide funding to every undergraduate who receives term time financial aid.
