Social Sciences> History

History is the study and research of major social, political, cultural, and economic events of the past and how they have shaped the world. Historians analyze and interpret recorded information such as photographs, government documents, interviews, and periodicals. Many historians have a chosen a specialty, which is often focused on an individual (Abraham Lincoln), location ( Bunker Hill), or major event (WWII). Many historians choose a career path in education, law, or public service. However, a degree in history combined with an additional degree or experience (such as an internship) in another field or area of interest (such as literature) opens the door to pursue other career paths.
