The Sciences

Biotechnology: As you may already be aware, biotechnology is one of the newest and most exciting fields within the sciences. There is a wide range of potential career options within the field of biotechnology, including bench research, marketing/sales, information technology, and even patent law. Computers and the Internet: Given the fact that a computer exists in virtually every business or organization across the globe and that we are constantly searching for the newest technology, those interested in pursuing careers related to computers or the internet will have a wide range of opportunities available to them. Potential career areas include hardware/software design and development, artificial intelligence, internet, computer manufacturing, and information technology consulting. Environment: Ranging from engineering to consulting to education or law you will find career opportunities to be just about as diverse as the environment itself. Within each of these fields you will also have the opportunity to specialize in fishery & wildlife, parks & outdoor recreation, air & water quality management, hazardous waste management, land & water conservation, or forestry, planning & energy. Physical Sciences: The field of physical sciences encompasses astronomy, physics, biology, chemistry, and mathematics. The two careers that most often come to mind within the physical sciences are research and teaching, however, you may also want to explore options such as technical writing, consulting, public policy, business development, or science journalism.
