Arts

The "Arts" encompass a broad range of activities, and there is no consensus regarding a strict list of arts fields or a definition of art. The Arts industry can be described as using "words, sounds, and images" to "convey messages to audiences" to serve an artistic purpose. The Communications industry can be described as using "words, sounds, and images" to "convey messages to audiences" to serve an informational purpose. The mediums used depend a great deal on the audience being targeted, the message that is being conveyed, and the skills, talent, and experience of the individual.

Artists are creators. As such, artists have the luxury of being able to create new ways of working, developing a career, and making a living. Some find it daunting to navigate nontraditional or unusual career paths; others find it refreshing. Many people working in the arts are supporting the preparation and presentation of artworks by others.
