Senior Year: Analyze and Strategize
Meet with a UCS Counselor early in the fall
Get a handle on your post-graduate plans, whether that's a full-time job, graduate or professional school, or something a bit more non-traditional. Update your resume, hone your interviewing skills, and establish a timeline for your process.
Check out our Job Listings
Through eRecruiting, we list hundreds of full-time positions in the course of the year. Students can search listings based on various criteria and apply for positions on-line. Activate your account if you have not done yet and begin searching.
Participate in the On-Campus Recruiting Program
Each year, over 100 companies, non-profit organizations and government agencies visit the Yale campus to recruit our students. Learn more on the On-Campus Interview Program and how to participate.
Get connected at Career Fairs
Attend the UCS Career Fairs. Bring copies of your resume to the corporate and non-profit fairs, and know what questions you want to ask as well as what you'd like to convey about yourself as a potential candidate.
Learn more about the Metro Link Recruiting Program.
With interviewing days in both New York City and Washington, DC, the focus at Metro Link is on organizations that don't come to campuses- like publishing, public relations, law firms, think tanks, non-profits and government agencies.
Applying to Law School?
If you are planning on matriculating at law school the fall after graduation, don't get caught off-guard by application deadlines, which begin in early January. We recommend completing your applications by November to be competitive, which is viable if you begin the process early in the fall semester. If you have not taken the LSAT, you will need to take it in October or December.
Still thinking about Medical School?
A growing number of students elect to take time off prior to beginning medical school. If you would like to do so, please meet with a premedical advisor during your senior year to discuss your overall timeline and what you should have completed prior to leaving campus. |
