Payroll Checks and Deposity Receipts
Payroll checks and deposit receipts should be picked up according to the following schedule:
- Bi-Weekly - Friday of every other week
- Semi-Monthly - 15th and last day of each month
- Monthly Checks - last day of each month
If checks are not picked up on the day of issue, they will be held two working days, then returned to Payroll at 344 Winchester Avenue. Each person will then be responsible for picking up their own check or deposit receipt.
NOTE: Only persons listed on the paycheck Authorization List will be permitted to sign for checks and deposit receipts. To Add or Delete names, FAX your request to (43)6-4593 ATTN: LYNNE. Names can not be added to this list at time of check receipt!
Mail Volume and Level of Service
The Medical Mailroom has only 2 employees to process mail for over 110 departments. They do an outstanding job each day sorting through the enourmous volume of mail they receive.
U.S. Mail -- Each week the Medical Mailroom receives over 80,000 pieces of mail from the U.S. Postal Service! First Class mail that is properly addressed using the departments' box number and correct ZIP Code is available for pickup that day. Mail that is not correctly addressed must be hand sorted and will, therefore, not be available until the following business day. To avoid delays, be sure to use your complete address.
Campus Mail -- The Medical Mailroom sorts 15,000 pieces of campus mail each week, plus large departmental mailings and payroll checks/deposit receipts. Mail that has a complete address (person's name, department, campus address) is promptly sorted. When mail is received with an incomplete address, it is put in our "Look-Up" area. This is considered low priority mail and is looked up when a mail clerk is available, which will be available within 2 business days. To avoid unnecessary delays, always use a complete campus address, including department name.
