"There's just
nothing like it.
The Cabaret...
it's just a
wild time."

Patricia Clarkson '85

Mission

The continuing mission of Yale Cabaret is to provide a public laboratory for experiments in theatre by the graduate students of Yale School of Drama.

The artistic vision for the 2007-2008 season:

We endeavor to realize the unfulfilled potential of live theatre.

To that end, we value:

Rebellion

  • We are excited by work that is built on a strong visual aesthetic and a dynamic physical life.
  • We are inspired by work that challenges assumptions of identity.

 Irreverence

  • We strive to push beyond boundaries of all kinds in the work we do.
  • We seek to foster collaboration that places students outside their academic discipline.

 Relevance

  • We seek out work that is timely as well as socially and politically relevant.
  • We celebrate a diversity of voices.
  • We demand work that is conscious of the Cabaret audience and embraces the eccentricities of the performance space.

Community

  • The Yale Cabaret is your Cabaret.
