The Bridge Club for Yale College Students runs free bridge
lessons, weekly social and duplicate games, and hosts bridge tournaments for
Yale College students and the Yale community. Its purpose is to promote
bridge playing at Yale, teach new players, provide regular opportunities for
duplicate and relaxed play, and to field a qualified team to represent Yale
at intercollegiate bridge events.
The Bridge Club was founded in October 2003, and has grown to a rollicking
group of about 40 players: regulars, casual players, and beginners. We were
North American college champions in 2005, and fielded 5 teams in the
qualifiers last year. For more information about our club, contact the
president.

New Schedule for Fall 2007!
September 13, 2007
posted by Katie
So, I finally figured
out how to update the website, with the help of a friendly CA. So here is the
schedule for Fall 2007:
Monday, 10 pm: SOCIAL
BRIDGE! All are welcome, and we play a friendly game of bridge as long as we
feel like it. We meet in the Davenport Dive (under the Dport dining hall).
Wednesday, 9 pm:
Beginner Lessons! More experienced players teach beginners the essentials of
bridge. Basically, every one is welcome again, and we’ll find some people to
teach you or just play bridge.
Sunday, 1 pm:
Duplicate/intermediate lessons. For somewhat more advanced players. Oosman
will be teaching a notrump structure and play techniques and we’ll play some
more formal bridge.
Tournaments and special
events to be announced!

Geez, I'm slow. Look at the next post :). But hey, you wanted beginner
lessons, you've got 'em. I spent a lot of time honing and proofreading them,
but there still might be a few mistakes. Please let me know if you find any! Bridge Beginner
Lessons, 3/24/06 Version. If that's too much for you, there's a summary
only version too, which is probably better for just reviewing, or as crib
notes. Bridge
Beginner Lesson Summaries only.
