Ron completed his B.S. in Biology and Chemistry at University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point (1987) and his Ph.D. in biochemistry at Purdue University (1992) with Dr. P.T. Gilham, studying chemical and enzymatic synthesis of nucleic acids and nucleic acid analogs. After post doctoral research with Dr. G. F. Joyce at The Scripps Research Institute on in vitro evolution methods and catalytic DNA, he joined Yale University in 1995. Ron is now a tenured Associate Professor in the Department of Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology.
