The present and future roles that GM plants will play in agriculture and good production raise questions that impinge on all sectors of society. Our series considers descion-making for GM plants in agricultural form the perspective of bioethics, government agencies, corporations, foundations, universities, and non-profits research organizations.
The theme for our 2007-2008 seminar series will be “Alternative Paths to Biosustainability”. Within this theme we plan to address subjects such as sustainability of the food supply, biofuels, and energy, land and water usages, carbon balance, and soil conservation. We plan to host at least one joint meeting wit the Yale Sustainable Food Project.
