What do you miss about your hometown that you canÕt find in New Haven?

In general I just miss driving up and down Dodge and

strolling around the Old Market.

What interests you about folkloric dancing and why did you join this group?

I started dancing in middle school mainly because my best friend had done it and really liked it. I went a few of the rehearsals and realized that it was a ton of fun. Ballet Folkl—rico is a great to stay in shape, and most importantly preserve our Mexican Culture. Each dance has a specific story that the dancers, choreography, costumes, and music all try to tell.

What is your favorite folklorico dance and why?

I know a version of 'La Bamba' from the state of Vera Cruz that I really like performing. We choreographed it for three girls and a guy. The solos are very fun. This dance is very well known and has many interpretations, another reason why it is such a great dance.
