Labor Management Steering Committee

The Labor Management Steering Committee formed to forge a new partnership in labor-management to improve the work environment at Yale University. This team is responsible for determining areas of mutual concern, prioritizing their importance and work as a team, surmounting all challenges.

The Steering Committee members are Yale employees who share the vision of Local 35 President, Bob Proto, to make Yale a better place to work. Proto has stated his hopes and vision for the future: "There is an agreed conviction that we can't continue to operate as we have done in the past, and there is a shared commitment that this partnership will benefit everyone at the University."

The Steering Committee will work closely with the Policy Board to create an environment that will encourage labor and management to improve the working relationships for all employees at Yale. The Steering Committee's primary responsibility will be to determine areas of mutual concern, prioritize their importance, and work as a team even through the particular challenges we face at this time, in the current environment of layoffs.
