Our Mission

Best Practices is the formal joint collaboration between Yale and Unite Here Locals 34 and 35. By facilitating jointly structured task forces, campus-wide projects, Joint Departmental Committees (JDCs) and other mechanisms, Best Practices will:

  • Promote positive union-management relations
  • Improve employee satisfaction
  • Increase productivity
  • Improve customer service
  • Prevent and resolve conflicts
  • Discuss ongoing issues and changes in the workplace

We pursue this mission through various formal and informal groups engaging people at all levels of the organization. But one thing they have in common is a dedication to certain core values—respect, excellence, creativity, flexibility and open communication.
