What:  International Coffee Hour
Where: Blue Dog Cafe in HGS
Description:
 Lots of Southeast Asian food, including fresh rolls, spring rolls, dumplings, chicken and beef satay... We will also showcase our books and photos from the art exhibit.

One ongoing event for this semester is our MAKE A BOOK, TEACH A KID project, where BBCC members essentially craft children's books from scratch.  Books will then be sent to the non-profit organization Cambodian Volunteers for Community Development, who will then distribute the books to children in areas where educational resources are lacking.

What: Cambodian Story, an art and book exhibit
Where: Trumbull Artspace
Description:
 In addition to displaying our books, we will also have photos, facts, readings, and anecdotes regarding Cambodia, Reamker (the Cambodian version of a Hindu myth), and our own lives.  There will also be egg rolls and beef skewers, along with some lychee dessert.  The event is FREE and will be a wonderful ending celebration to our year-long project.

Description: a PBS documentary featuring Arn Chorn Pond. To be followed by a discussion led by Pond himself.  Co-sponsored by SEAS, OISS, AACC, and AI.

What: BBCC General Meeting:  with coconuts!

Description: BBCC General Meeting to plan for upcoming events and to read pieces for FTWC.

What: Write-a-Thon
Where: Asian American Cultural Center
Description: co-sponsored with Alpha Phi Omega.  Letters to write on issues such as deportation, political corruption, land mines and sex trafficking.

What: Showing of The Killing Fields
Where: Trumbull College TV Room - entryway D
Description: Showing of the Killing Fields - a movie that follows the life and escape of Dith Pran during the Pol Pot regime.

When: Saturday, January 24th, 2004 @ 3pm
What: Showing of Refugee
Where: LC 101
Description: part of the Asian American Film Festival.  Refugee is a documentary of one man's return to Cambodia. 

When: Friday, January 16th, 2004 @ 8pm
What: Re:ACTION
Where: Branford Common Room
Description: a night to reflect on Cambodia's past and a celebration of its future.  All proceeds from event goes to the Khmer Literacy Project.
