Rob Inglis '07 wins for most peripatetic YJI alum. After a few months as a researcher in Antarctica [sic], he moved to Washington State to continue environmental science research. He now is now working at a six-month writing internship with High Country News, a magazine based in Paonia, Colorado that covers politics, environmental issues, and cultural trends in the rural West. Nicholas Vinocur '07 is in the process of moving to London to start in September a 9 month contract with Thomson Reuters as a trainee in their graduate journalism program. He says: "I would definitely point Yalies toward that -- it's a fully paid deal with the possibility of becoming a correspondent at the end. Also very competitive and language-driven." Before that, he worked for a year as a web producer for the New Yorker, though does not recommend that other aspiring journalists take a technical position as a way of getting their foot in the door.
