Captain
Andrew's summary:
Mens Singles #1:
Andrew vs. Ram
After beating Ram 15-3 in the first game, a once confident Andrew was
nearly bageled (at 11-0), but managed to finish up losing the next two
games 7-15, 9-15. Shamed and mentally beaten, he vowed to step
down
from the much coveted men's singles #1 spot.
Mens singles #2:
Dipankar vs. Siew Ann
Dipankar laid the smack down on Cornell 15-6, 15-3, winning Yale's
first point in the match up.
Womens singles #1:
Lily vs. Pei Chin
In a very close and hard fought match, Lily showed the Yale team that
she *doesn't* just sleep all day, beating the Cornell #1 women's player
in two sets 12-10, 12-10.
Women's singles #2:
Janet vs. Tammy
In her first time playing badminton this semester, Janet put up a
valient effort for Eli Yale, but was overcome by the Cornell woman's
superior speed and strength. 4-11, 1-11.
Men's Doubles #1:
Xiaosong and Dipankar vs. Ram and Yi Liang.
After a semi-slow start, the Dipankar and Xiaosong war machine got
rolling. Unfortunately, the Cornell doubles' pair kept ahead of
them,
smashing every single shot they could into the ground on the Yale
side. The bulldogs fought back, but ultimately lost 14-17, 13-15.
Men's Doubles #2:
Andrew and Kenneth vs. Siew Ann and Oliver
In quite posibly the most nervous match of the game, Andrew and Kenneth
managed to win 15-7, 15-9 after hitting many *many* shots into the net
and out of bounds.
Women's Doubles:
Karen and Janet vs. Pei Chin and Evelyn
For not having made it to a single practice this semester, first time
pair Karen Cheung and Janet Lee showed just how resilient their
spirits are, losing 3-15, 1-15.
Mixed Doubles #1:
Xiaosong and Lily vs. Yi Liang and Tammy
Pissed off about losing his doubles match, Xiaosong went crazy.
Meanwhile Lily did a great job of working the net as the two
overpowered the Cornell team to win 15-13, 15-12.
Mixed Doubles #2:
Kenneth and Karen vs. Oliver and Evelyn
In the tie-breaking match of the game (score was 4-4), Kenneth and
Karen did it for us, beating Cornell 15-7, 15-9.
Game MVP(s): All the girls. They basically won it for the team

I (Dipankar) will put them as soon as someone sends them to me.
