Travel Task Force

Scope: total spend on air, ground, accommodations and meals: ~$25M

Aim: reduce cost; improve services; promote alternatives to travel
Approach: benchmark best practices and set specific targets; implement program with best alternatives for Yale

Promising Opportunities

Develop and communicate clear and reasonable standards.
Move to online reservation and expense reporting systems.
Overhaul reimbursement procedures for ease of use and effective incentives.
Renegotiate provider agreements.
Success requires tradeoffs.
