Welcome to Yale University's
Henry Whitfield House Project!

Each autumn starting with that of 2000, a group of Yale students and their professor have left New Haven to spend their Saturdays at nearby Guilford's Henry Whitfield House. The Henry Whitfield House (HWH) has been a landmark of Guilford, and even Connecticut as a whole, for nearly four-hundred years. With the help of the Connecticut State Historical Society, the State Museum System, the HWH Museum Curator, and Yale University, the course has taught the region's archaeological community and Guilford's local population about the little recorded history of the house. Simultaneously, Yale University students learned and became practiced in archaeological field techniques.
