Introduction
The
purpose of the Graduate Program in Anthropology at Yale
is the development of creative scholars and scientists who
will teach or otherwise apply their knowledge and skills
within one or more of the traditionally recognized fields
of anthropology. This goal may be realized, we believe,
by encouraging and stimulating students to do original and
creative research as early as possible in their careers.
To ensure the attainment of these goals, the Department
admits only a small number of graduate students each year
and assists each one to develop and follow a flexible program
designed to meet his or her own needs.
