Current Members:

Paul Anastas

Professor Paul Anastas is the director of the Center for Green Chemistry & Green Engineering at Yale, as well as a Professor in the chemistry department and the school of forestry and environmental studies.

Evan Beach

Dr. Evan Beach is a research associate with the group. He received a Ph.D. from Carnegie Mellon under Professor Terry Collins. His research projects include the design of "green" polymer additives, polymer-surfactant interactions, and next generation biofuels.

Nicolas Eghbali

Dr. Nicolas Eghbali is a postdoctoral researcher with the group. He received a Ph.D. from McGill University. His research projects include utilization of carbon dioxide as a renewable resource, as well as organic synthesis methodologies for multi-component coupling reactions and cyclo-addition strategies.

Toby Sommer

Dr. Toby Sommer is a a senior research associate with the group. He received a Ph.D. from Yale University and held positions in academia and industry before joining us from the biochemistry department at Brandeis. His research projects include green organic synthesis methodologies.

Zheng Cui

Dr. Zheng Cui is a postdoctoral researcher with the group. She received a Ph.D. from Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics in material science. Her research focuses on green packaging materials, such as thin films and stronger materials that can replace petroleum-based polymers used to make drinking bottles and other everyday products.

Adelina Voutchkova

Dr. Adelina Voutchkova is a postdoctoral researcher with the group. She received a Ph.D. from Yale University, and joins us from the Crabtree group.

Lori Ferris

Lori Ferris is a second year graduate student in the school of forestry and environmental studiest. She joins us from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Massachusetts where she received a bachelor's degree in 2007.

Patrick Foley

Patrick Foley is a first year graduate student in the department of Environmental Engineering. Before attending Yale he received a B.S. in Molecular Biology at the University of Connecticut in 2004 and worked at Pfizer as a research chemist in the Discovery department until 2008. His research interests include the utilization of chemicals that are currently components of industrial and commercial waste streams and the introduction of novel efficiencies into synthetic approaches.

Lauren Martini

Lauren Martini is a first year graduate student in the department of chemistry. She graduated from New York University in January 2008 with a B.S. in chemistry. Her research interests include designing greener polymers and materials.
