Welcome to Ctrax at Yale!

Looking for an inexpensive way to listen to music safely? Look no further if you are a student, faculty, or staff member at Yale. Ctrax has more than 1 million songs available for download. These are songs from 96,000 artists signed with major record labels as well as artists on independent labels.

The monthly fee for tethered downloading is only $2.99. The cost to download a file to copy to your mp3 player or burn to CD is only $0.89 per song.

The technology will only work on Windows machines with Internet Explorer 6 &Windows Media player.

How to sign up:

  1. Click the sign up link below.
  2. Enter your Yale email address (your first.last@Yale.edu email address).
  3. Click on the "Register" button -- You'll be sent an email with a registration link to follow.
  4. Finish registering with Cdigix.

Note: Your computer will be automatically checked and you will be asked to install additional software components in order to download and listen to the music.

You will have immediate access to the service and be able to preview 30 second clips. You will need to provide credit card or bank account information for payment to fully access all the songs.

The Yale community also has access to other Cdigix services (Clabs, Cvillage & Cflix). Clabs is the educational component and can be accessed directly (with no registration) to view course materials. Cvillage allows the Yale University student community to exchange ideas and content. With Cvillage, student members of the community can use the message boards and chat rooms as well as share their own media creations—music and videos—for viewing and comment. Cflix will provide on demand viewing of entertainment video..
