The Yale Student Chapter of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers works to improve on chemical engineering opportunities for undergraduates and to expand on people's interests about the engineering sciences. Over the course of the year, we will organize many events including visits to plants and educational events.

President

Bassel DeGraff (SM '08)
Bassel is a current Junior working for his BS in Engineering Science. Hailing from the amazing island of Trinidad, he is a proud member of Konjo and the Club Soccer team. He plans to pursue a career in the chemical industry after graduation. If you want to organize any events with AIChE, Bassel is the man to talk to.

Vice-President

Alex Zhang (SY '08)
Alex (also known as Jianming) comes from the tiny island of Mauritius and is a current Junior enrolled in the ABET Track as well as the SELECT program and the BS/MS degree. A member of the Van Tassel Lab, Tau Beta Phi, and the East Asian Culinary Club, he aims to join the manufacturing industry or consulting after graduation.

Treasurer

Claire Anderson (JE '08)
Claire Anderson is a current junior in the ABET-accredited Chemical Engineering major. She is also in the SELECT engineering program, which prepares students for work in industry with classes in economics, accounting, ethics, etc. She has worked on the fabrication and cleaning of carbon and boron nanotubes in the lab of professor Lisa Pfefferle here at Yale. In the future, she plans to pursue a higher degree and perhaps go into academic teaching/research.

Bonaire Le (ES '09)
Bonaire, a Sophomore planning to complete the Select Program with the ABET degree brings his musical talents to the team from Nor-Cal. A proud Stiles Moose, he attempts to prepare himself for a career in industry. If you want to be added to the mailing list, Bonaire is the man to talk to.

Myrtle-Rose Padmore (DC '08)

Degree: BS ABET
Research Interests: Materials, Oxide thin-films, surface  characterization
Future Plans: No clue but I'm interested in consulting, business, and industry,
Misc: I'm in Davenport '08; In the summers, I have studied abroad and also participated in Yale Summer Session to get some of those pre-reqs out of the way; I play Women's Club Waterpolo and I love arranging those free dinners for ChemE students and professors!

Public Relations 

Christopher VanLang (BR '08)
Chris hails from local CT. He is on the ABET track and is taking several cell biology and biochemistry courses to prepare for his plans to continue in biochemical engineering and work with biopharmaceuticals. A member of the Van Tassel Lab, he is also involved with the Yale Club Wrestling team and various Asian American organizations.

Professor Yehia Khalil

Professor Khalil is all knowing and researches topics in environmental risk assessment. He is also the teacher of popular courses including CENG Process Design, CENG Lab, CENG Separation and Purification, and Air Pollution Control. Despite all of his important work, he is always open to visitors to his office in Mason Labs
