Regular Decision Application Information

The following information applies only to those individuals who have already submitted an application in the Regular Decision process for the Yale College Class of 2013, or whose applications were deferred from the early application process this past fall.

Can I still check whether my application is complete and whether you have all required documents?

Because we are now close to the decision date, we are no longer updating the application status information that we made available online. The application status site is therefore no longer available online. If your application was incomplete according to the information that was available on that site, we assume that you took the steps necessary to send us the required documents.

When and how will admissions decisions for the Class of 2013 be available?

We hope to make decisions available online during the evening of Tuesday, March 31, 2009, and we will mail decision letters at the same time. Please watch the admissions Web site for more information. If there is going to be a delay in posting the decisions online for any reason, you will find an announcement on our front page at www.yale.edu/admit.

What do you need to do in order to check your admissions decision online?

In order to check your Regular Decision admissions decision online, you must have an Eli account. After receiving your application, Yale Undergraduate Admissions mailed to you a username, a PIN number and the instructions for setting up an Eli account. If you have used these instructions and have successfully set up your Eli account, you already have what you will need to obtain your decision.

What should you do if have forgotten your Eli account password?

If you have forgotten the password that you created for your Eli account, simply go to www.yale.edu/admit/onlinedecisions and click on Forgot Password. You will be asked to verify your identity by answering some questions that were asked of you when you activated or last modified your account. If you wish to change your password or change other information in your account you can do so at www.yale.edu/admit/manage.

What should you do if you have not yet created your Eli account?

If you have not already created your Eli account, please go to www.yale.edu/admit/onlinedecisions. You will need the letter or email that we sent to you after receiving your application, containing a username and the PIN number required for setting up an Eli account. If you received our instructions and have had difficulty setting up your Eli account, you may email regina.chenell@yale.edu for assistance. Please include your full legal name and date of birth in your message, and write ELI ACCOUNT PROBLEM in the Subject Line.

What should you do if you have lost, or never received, the letter providing your username and PIN number?

If you have not received the letter with your username and PIN, or if you have lost the information required to set up your Eli account, you may send an email to regina.chenell@yale.edu, providing your full legal name and date of birth. Your message should be sent from the same email address that you provided in your application. Please write PIN REQUEST in the subject line.

We will try to respond to requests for lost usernames and PINs as quickly as possible. Please do not telephone our office to obtain this information, as we are unable to provide it by telephone.

Thank you for your interest in Yale, and we wish you the best of success with your plans for college!
