Academics
Yale students plan their academic schedules from more than 2,000 courses offered in more than seventy departments and programs. The curriculum includes a number of programs that may be particularly attractive to students of color. These include an interdisciplinary major called Ethnicity, Race, and Migration, which studies the forces that have created our multicultural, multiethnic, and multiracial world; a major in African American studies, one of the oldest programs of its kind in the country; majors in East Asian Studies, and Latin American Studies; STARS (Science, Technology and Research Scholars), a program that identifies and supports traditionally underrepresented students in the sciences, including including racial/ethnic minorities, women and physically challenged students; and a variety of courses in such fields as African, Asian American, Caribbean, and Native American studies. |
