Multicultural Outreach Program
|
The pursuit of diversity and excellence lies at the heart of Yale. In addition to the welcoming atmosphere of the entire Yale community, numerous resources are available to add to an incredibly rich and varied college experience. One resource, for example, is the cultural houses that serve as a center for different groups and organizations to come together - making Yale a student's home away from home. Through the cultural houses, students participate in activities that vary from African dance to Korean drumming to cooking and enjoying traditional home-style dinners. For students craving a taste of different cultures, New Haven offers a wide variety of restaurants to suit every appetite. The variety is virtually limitless as it ranges from Soul Food to sushi to Eritrean delights. There are more restaurants per square foot in New Haven than anywhere in the world! Currently, Yale College enrolls over 5,000 undergraduates from all 50 U.S. states and many countries around the world. About 14% of the student body hails from another country and about 30% of the undergraduates are students of color. Indeed, Yale is home to one of the most talented student bodies around the world. The diversity on campus translates into a wealth of learning opportunities and long-lasting memories for students from all different backgrounds. It is these people that make Yale. Sincerely, The Student Recruitment Coordinators |
