Established in 1985, ACSSNY is a not-for-profit, non-political, non-religious organization officially registered in New York City in the United States of America. ACSSNY has affiliated associations at forty-three universities and research institutes in the Tri-State Area (New York, New Jersey, Connecticut) of the Eastern United States. With more than 5000 members, ACSSNY is the largest organization of Chinese Students and Scholars in USA.

ACSSY was established by a group of exchange students and scholars at Yale from China in early 1980's. Today, with more than 800 members, ACSSY has grown to be one of the largest student organizations at Yale. Its mission is to help Chinese students and scholars at Yale with their lives, to promote social and intellectual activities within the Yale community and to enhance the understanding between the Chinese and non-Chinese communities.
