Welcome to Yale University Reaccreditation
Every ten years Yale undertakes a comprehensive and wide-ranging self-study as part of our reaccreditation by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) Commission on Institutions of Higher Education (CIHE). This process culminates in an evaluation by a visiting team of faculty and administrators from peer institutions who will come to campus November 1–4, 2009. The purpose of this effort is to assure the quality of Yale and to foster its improvement. See FAQs for more details about the process.
We currently are preparing a detailed self-study report that addresses the eleven standards provided by NEASC CIHE. A Steering Committee and eleven Standards Committees are assessing Yale in the context of the following standards:
- Mission and Purposes
- Planning and Evaluation
- Organization and Governance
- The Academic Program
- Faculty
- Students
- Library and Other Information Resources
- Physical and Technological Resources
- Financial Resources
- Public Disclosure
- Integrity
The intent of this web site is to inform the Yale community about our reaccreditation self-study and to invite your participation. Please share your comments and suggestions about the process and, when posted in late summer, about the Self–Study Report. If you have questions or comments, we invite you to e–mail them to the address listed below.
We look forward to a thoughtful self–examination and a successful outcome.
Please send questions and comments to accred@yale.edu.
