During the simulation, delegates to the Yale Accords will be participating in the discussions as
representatives of a country or a bloc of two countries in the with similar perspectives. Within each
country or bloc, different factions will also be represented.
The debates will be taking place in eight committees with eight to twelve delegates each. While making
the assignments for committees, we will be taking into consideration the preferences you have provided
in the registration form. The country and interest assignments will be random. Delegates will be provided
with an Accords briefing packet on the history and status of negotiations on the particular issue which
they will be discussing in their committees.
You can click on the menus above to find out which countries and interests will be represented and what
the committees are. The order of simulation alternates between committee and country meetings. During the
country meetings, each faction will discuss their points of view regarding the issues being debated in the
committees, and if possible, try to reach a compromise on the position their country or bloc will take with
respect to relevant issues. Then, during the committee meetings, representatives from each country or bloc
will participate in the discussions, keeping in mind the decisions made at the country meetings.
We have also delineated a set of simulation rules which you will need to abide by during the discussions. We
advise you to check them out beforehand on the simulation rules page.
