About the AACCOUR MISSIONEstablished in 1981, the Asian American Cultural Center (AACC), in cooperation with affiliated student organizations, promotes Asian American culture and explores the social and political experience of Asians in the United States. The Center and affiliated student organizations are committed to the intellectual, cultural, social and political development of the Asian American student community. To best serve these needs, we work closely to bring diverse programming to campus (speakers, conferences, dinners, writers, study breaks, artists, activists, movie nights, etc.) with the goal of enriching student life at Yale for Asian Americans. For more about our history, please click here. WHO WE ARE NOWOver thirty-five undergraduate organizations are affiliated with the AACC. Students of Filipino, Chinese, South Asian (Nepali, Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi, Sri-Lankan), Taiwanese, Thai, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese and other Asian backgrounds work together to address pan-Asian American issues as well as provide programs that focus on specific individual ethnic group issues. The Center also serves as a clearinghouse of information on issues that affect the Asian American community. We welcome all organizations that are interested in the Asian and Asian American community at Yale, but are not currently affliated with the AACC. Please contact us if your group has any questions about how to get more involved with the AACC, Asian American Student Alliance (AASA), and Yale at large.COME JOIN US ON CROWN STREETThe Center serves as a SECOND HOME to our students and is available for both informal and formal gatherings. Students are encouraged to come to the AACC to study, or to use the computer room, kitchen, TV room or conference rooms. The Center also houses an Asian American Studies Library, which has books and magazines of Asian American interest, and the archive of Yale's Asian American Students Association. We invite interested members of the Yale community to feel welcome to attend any of our events. We promote cross-cultural dialogue and unity among the Yale students of color community and seek to support efforts that speak to such initiatives.
OUR HOURSOur hours are Monday - Thursday 4 to 10 pm and Sunday 2- 6pm. All other days are by appointment.
