Lockesburg is a rural community, which has a presschool program, an elementary school, and junionr/senior high school. Our program services 4 year old preK students and our after-school program services 2 nd through 6 th grade students.
Our after-school program is designed to help students in the areas of literacy and math, as well as to help raise Benchmark scores. We provide a wide range of activities after-school, including art, music, movement, and physical education activities. We offer libarary nights for families which give opportunity for parents and childnen to read together and check out books for home use.
Our preschool program helps to prepare our preK students to enter kindergarten on grade level. We are able to offer extended day and summer servcices to our preschool children, thus giving our working parents the necessary child care.
We are working with local child care providers and families who have children entering kindergarten to ensure that they are ready for the fall. This includes a round up where we provide age-appropriate activities and materials for use at home during the summer months. Screenings are also available during this time.
