Mailman Foundation
 The
A.L. Mailman Family Foundation is a foundation focused
on the family. They promote programs that help children
to grow up in healthy, nurturing families that are supported
by their communities. Over the past 20 years, they have
focused on early childhood and helped to provide support
to quality programs that impact children's ethical,
social, and emotional development.
Carnegie
Corporation of New York
 Created
by Andrew Carnegie in 1911, the Carnegie Corporation
has attempted to promote "the advancement and diffusion
of knowledge and understanding." As a grant-making
foundation, the Corporation seeks to carry out Carnegie's
vision of philanthropy, which he said should aim "to
do real and permanent good in this world." The
four areas supported by Carnegie Corporation are education,
international peace and security, international development,
and strengthening U.S. democracy.
Child
Health & Development Institute of Connecticut
 CHDI
was established as a partnership between the University
of Connecticut and Yale University with the mutual
goal of improving health outcomes for Connecticut's
children. The organization "works to create,
support, and facilitate innovative primary and preventative
strategies."
Danforth
Foundation
 The
Danforth Foundation is a private, independent foundation.
Its goal is to help revitalize the St. Louis region,
making it one of the top metropolitan areas in America.
The areas that Danforth Foundation focuses on are
economic development, plant and life sciences, neighborhood
redevelopment, and downtown St. Louis revitalization,
special religious outreach activities, early childhood
care and education projects.
Educational
Foundation of America
Founded
in 1959, the Educational Foundation of America seeks
to "improve individual lives and their surroundings
through education and awareness, in hopes of bettering
humanity and the world we inhabit."
The
Ford Foundation
 Founded
in 1936, the Ford Foundation is a resource for innovative people and institutions
worldwide. Their goals are to
"strengthen democratic values, reduce poverty
and injustice, promote international cooperation
and advance human achievement."
Foundation
for Child Development
 The
Foundation for Child Development is a national private
philanthropy supporting programs designed for families,
and the principle that all families "should have
the social and material resources to raise their children
to be healthy, educated, and productive members of
their communities." The Foundation supports basic
and policy-relevant research about the factors that
promote and support the optimal development of children
and adolescents, policy analysis, advocacy, services,
and public education to enhance the discussion and
adoption of social policies that support families
in their important child-raising responsibilities,
and leadership development activities linked to the
programmatic focus of the Foundation.
Human
Family Foundation
 The
Human Family Foundation is a publicly supported non-profit
organization incorporated and based in Virginia.
Their
mission is to promote the "dignity of families
and the human family through education, advocacy and
service."
Kraft
Foods Corporation
 Kraft
Foods devotes its grant-making opportunities to "help
make a difference on the critical issues facing society."
They provide funding around the world. In the United
States, they concentrate their funding in three areas:
hunger,
domestic violence, and arts in education.
Met
Life
MetLife
Foundation was established in 1976 with the primary
mission of "supporting educational, health and
civic and cultural organizations."
Rockefeller
Brothers Fund
 Through
its grantmaking, the Rockefeller Brothers Fund supports
efforts to "expand knowledge, clarify values
and critical choices, nurture creative expression,
and shape public policy."
The
Rockefeller Foundation
 The
Rockefeller Foundation is a knowledge-based global foundation
with a stated commitment to "enrich and sustain
the lives and livelihoods of poor and excluded people
throughout the world." They provide grants for
the following theme-related works: Creativity &
Culture, Food Security, Health Equity and Working Communities.
Winthrop
Rockefeller Foundation
 The
Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation is a private, nonprofit
foundation dedicated to improving the economic and social
well being of Arkansas and its people. Created in 1974
by an endowment from the estate of Governor Winthrop
Rockefeller, the Foundation has made gifts and grants
of more than $54 million to nonprofit organizations
and educational institutions.
The
Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation mission is to improve
the quality of life for those who reside in Arkansas.
They promote the strengthening of the Arkansas community
by using its resources in three general areas: economic
development, education, and economic, racial and social
justice.
We
